Job summary

Federal Express Corporation seeks a seasoned Regulatory Affairs professional to lead a team of customs specialists, updating processes in response to trade regulation changes. You will ensure compliance, perform audits, and develop clearance solutions for key industries and customers.

Strong knowledge of FedEx operations and Canadian Customs is essential. Candidates should have 6+ years in Global Trade Services, management experience, and relevant Canadian/US qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent required.
  • Global Trade Services experience of 6 years.
  • Progressive experience in International Logistics or Customs Brokerage incl. 2 years of management.
  • US Customs qualification completed; CSCB/Revenue Canada qualification preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint at intermediate level.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Plan, manage and direct a team of customs professionals to ensure process, procedures and policies are modified in response to import/export regulatory changes in a timely and cost effective manner.

Ensures regulatory and operational compliance through research, ongoing audits and feedback.

Develops divisional and global clearance solutions for strategically selected industries, markets or specific customer requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • Global Trade Services - 6 years
  • Progressive experience in International Logistics or Customs Brokerage including two (2) years of management experience;
  • Global Trade Services - 2 years (Preferred)
  • Qualifications from Revenue Canada, Customs & Excise or CSCB Qualification status required. Successful completion of the US Customs qualification
  • Microsoft Excel - Intermediate
  • Microsoft Word - Intermediate
  • Microsoft Outlook - Intermediate
  • Microsoft Power Point - Intermediate
  • Knowledge of FedEx operations, systems policies and procedures
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of Canadian Customs and Customs Legislation
  • Previous background interfacing with Federal Government and Regulatory agencies - (Preferred)
  • Must currently be a member of FedEx management or EXCEL/LEAP endorsed
  • Some travel required
