Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Clinical Unit Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a 183-bed unit and ensure timely, safe, compassionate patient care.

You will coach and evaluate staff, communicate with physicians, and drive ongoing performance improvement while maintaining a risk-free environment.

Texas RN license, supervisory/management experience, and BLS/ACLS are required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Texas RN License is required.
• Experience in supervisory or charge role is required/preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee that staff carry out duties safely, timely, compassionate, and efficiently; provide direct patient care as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Unit Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of their unit. The Clinical Unit Manager must effectively provide timely, safe, compassionate care for all patients of their unit.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Oversees that all staff members carry out their duties safely, timely, compassionately and efficiently including providing patient care directly as necessary.
2. Directly communicates with physicians and other members of management to resolve conflict or other issues quickly and effectively.
3. Responsible for timely evaluation, coaching, educating and counseling of all staff members.
4. Responsible for maintaining a risk free environment on their unit as well as ongoing performance improvement.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
