Job summary

Universal Health Services in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to support behavioral health admissions and hospital operations. You will process inquiries, review referrals, document interactions, and ensure compliance with clinical documentation requirements.

Qualified candidates have NC RN licensure, CPR, CPI, a valid NC driver's license, and at least 6 months of relevant hospital experience. This on-site role requires collaboration with multiple facility teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License.
• Current North Carolina Driver's License.
• Current CPR Certification.
• CPI Certification.
• At least 6 months experience in a behavioral health or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Timely processing of inquiry/referral calls.
• Review incoming referrals from outside facilities for appropriate medical and clinical admission criteria.
• Thorough and accurate documentation of calls.
• Ensure all required clinical documentation is received for accepted patients (medical records, legal paperwork, required lab results, testing, and supporting documentation).
• Develop professional relationships with behavioral health management teams at other facilities.
• Receive nursing report for incoming patients from sending facilities.
• Triage walk-in patients who arrive for assessment.
• Bed management with real-time bed availability and patient status; use clinical judgement for bed assignments.
• Data entry of information in appropriate systems.
• Verification of benefits for incoming patients.
• Communication and collaboration with on-site Holly Hill staff and referring hospitals.
