Job summary

Rheem is seeking a Welding Technician for its Water Heater division in Montgomery, AL. The role covers all welding functions in the Boiler Department, including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding, with robotic welding involvement to optimize processes and improvements.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of welding experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to plan improvements to maximize profitability while maintaining a safe workspace and reporting to the Welding

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years welding process experience.
• Knowledge of GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
• Experience with Robotic Welders and their functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Parameter Sheets on all Welding applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair Welding Equipment.
• Monitor welding processes including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
• Monitor leak rates in Commercial and Residential departments.
• Plans for improvements for profitability.
• Maintain safe workplace and adheres to safety requirements including PPE.
• Monitor welding processes and materials to detect and resolve future problems.
• Ensure weld reliability and integrity.
• Establish working relationships with Maintenance, Supervisors, and Superintendents.
• Provide daily reports to Welding Engineer.

The Welding Technician will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

The Welding Technician is responsible for all welding functions in the Boiler Department including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding, while working with Robotics. In addition, the applicant has responsibility for optimizing welding processes, planning for improvements, and maximizing company profits.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining Parameter Sheets on all Welding applications.
• Troubleshoots and repairs wide variety of Welding Equipment.
• Monitors all welding processes including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
• Monitors leak rates in Commercial and Residential departments.
• Plans for improvements for maximization of company profitability.
• Maintains safe workplace environment and adheres to all safety requirements including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Monitors welding processes and materials to detect and resolve future problems.
• Ensures weld reliability and integrity throughout all welding processes.
• Establishes a working relationship with both direct and indirect support departments, including Maintenance, Supervisors, and Superintendents.
• Provides daily reports to Welding Engineer.
