Job summary

Rheem’s Water Heater Division in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Spray Machine Operator. You will operate spray equipment, perform setup tasks, enter quality data, monitor mill thickness, and keep production running smoothly while following safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include minor maintenance, inspecting parts for defects, and adhering to Rheem values. Overtime may be required; physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• External candidates must have at least 1 year of manufacturing/warehousing experience.
• Internal candidates must have good communications skills.
• Candidate must have held current job for at least 6 months prior to bidding.
• Must promote Rheem values (Integrity, Teamwork, Business Ethics).
• Overtime may be required.
• Must meet physical requirements (lifting, standing, etc.).
• PPE provided and required.

Responsibilities

• Operate spray equipment per established procedures using a computer touch screen.
• Perform set-up operations on equipment as necessary.
• Enter quality data into a computer database periodically.
• Monitor wet mill thickness to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Use a mill thickness gauge and adjust equipment to maintain daily production.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance on spray machine.
• Notify supervisor of any malfunctions to avoid downtime.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; observe safety requirements.
• Inspect units/parts for defects and workmanship.
• Work from written or verbal orders and follow instructions.
• May be exposed to high noise, heat, dust and airborne particles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Spray Machine Operator will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

• Must be able to operate spray equipment with established procedures using a computer touch screen.
• Must be able to perform set-up operations on equipment as necessary.
• Must be able to enter quality data in a computer database periodically.
• Responsible for monitoring wet mill thickness for adherence to specifications.
• Must be able to properly use an instrument mill thickness gauge.
• Responsible for making equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain daily production.
• Must perform minor preventative maintenance on spray machine.
• Responsible for notifying supervisor of any malfunctions of spray machine in a timely manner to avoid down time.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
• May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Candidate must be able to perform consistently within the physical requirements of the role.
• Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs; Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs; Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs. Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
• Must be able to place a weighted object at minimum height of 5 foot.
• Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
• Candidate must successfully be fitted for a respirator.
• PPE required: Gloves, Safety Glasses, Approved Footwear, Earplugs, Respirator, Clothing Protection.
