Job summary

Coverys is seeking a Programs Underwriting Director to oversee MGA partnerships in the US, driving strategic growth, underwriting discipline, and operational excellence. You will manage stakeholder expectations, coordinate with multiple internal teams, and ensure rigorous program lifecycle management from due diligence to filings.

The role requires 15+ years of P&C program underwriting experience, strong analytics, and leadership of complex portfolios. Travel up to 35% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
• 15+ years of P&C experience with program underwriting focus.
• Strong filings expertise and disciplined, accountable operation.
• RPLU/CPCU or equivalent designations are a plus.
• Knowledge of medical malpractice, liability, reinsurance and SIR programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary MGA contact to build trust and alignment.
• Collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance and tech.
• Source and evaluate new program opportunities to grow the segment.
• Oversee delegated underwriting and annual audits for compliance.
• Lead product development, filings, and contracts with MGAs.
• Monitor P&L, governance and performance remediation across programs.
