Job summary

FHP Manufacturing in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a student in manufacturing or electrical engineering to support the Test Manufacturing Engineer. You will assist with leak tests, final run tests, and programming of controllers, while helping maintain equipment and update work instructions.

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited program with a minimum 3.0 GPA, be at least 18 years old, and proficient in English. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing or electrical engineering.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and ability to communicate in English.
• Open to students 18+ with a strong interest in manufacturing testing and programming.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior Test Manufacturing Engineer with leak tests and final run tests.
• Support operation and maintenance of testing and programming equipment on lines.
• Maintain test accessories inventory (thermocouples, cables, plugs).
• Help troubleshoot heat pumps and test equipment to identify root causes.
• Analyze data, generate FPY reports, and document findings.
• Assist in operator training at run-off stations and update work instructions.

Job Description

• Support the senior Test Manufacturing Engineer who is the first escalation point of contact for testing and programming operations: Leak Test, Final Run Test, Motor Programming, and Controller Programming.
• Support proper operation and maintenance of testing and programming equipment on all assembly and support lines.
• Assure accessories used for testing operation are available for immediate replacement if necessary: Thermocouples, control cables, power plugs
• Support the senior Test Manufacturing Engineer in troubleshooting failures ofheat pumps and testequipment to locate root cause and provide resolution
• Data analysis, report issues, and findings using the FPY report.
• Assist in training of operators at 'Run-off' stations to ensure tests are being properly performed.
• Identify and resolve improvement opportunities and gaps with training.
• Create and update work instructions to reflect current procedures in testing and validate improvement ideas with the test engineer.
• Recognize deficiencies in the test process and find options for improvement together with senior Test Manufacturing Engineer.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college and pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Must possess a minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
