Job summary

FLSmidth in Winfield, WV seeks a manufacturing associate to support the application of wear resistant materials on equipment and components for the mining industry. You will perform manual tasks, prepare materials, and apply linings in accordance with client specifications and drawings, contributing to production goals.

• 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Computer skills: ability to use the computer for time tracking purposes.
• Understanding of lining materials and how they affect the performance of the product.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Key Accountabilities:

Performs manual work within generally defined work instructions which contributes to the achievement of expected production volumes.

Uses a variety of hand tools to prepare and apply Wear Resistant Materials such as rubber, ceramic tile, stone hard and ceramic bead to equipment and components related to the mineral and mining industry.

Duties:

• Identify different types of lining materials
• Use safe rigging and overhead crane practice’s on various heavy metal shapes
• Safe practices for hand grinding
• Safe operation of Fork-Lift
• Operate a saw to cut ceramic tiles, carbide tungsten and rubber
• Mix and apply compounds used as adhesives
• Apply various lining materials to various products as per blue prints and client specifications

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Computer skills: ability to use the computer for time tracking purposes
• Understanding of lining materials and how they affect the performance of the product
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems with different complexities in standardized situations.
