Job description

Oversee and ensure legal compliance throughout all employee relations activities, including training, investigations, decision-making processes, and follow-through. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR), and our Customer 1st strategy. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, organizational development, organizational psychology, or other business-related fields.
  • 2+ years of human resources experience in food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant procedures and policies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Desired Qualifications
  • Human Resources Certification (HRCI) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.
  • Experience managing a plant safety process.
  • Work experience in a union plant.
  • Work experience in human resources at a manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
  • Foster open communication with all plant associates and the corporate office.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with corporate policies, posting, and work rules.
  • Participate in all major plant initiatives and decisions.
  • Uphold a culture supporting a union-free status (if non-union).
  • Ensure fair and consistent performance expectations and accountability.
  • Develop and oversee practices to recognize, reward, and appreciate associates.
  • Champion the plant's cultural initiatives to promote inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee recruiting, staffing practices, and candidate quality.
  • Manage succession planning, mentoring, and management training.
  • Create and communicate compensation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with benefit programs.
  • Foster cooperation with union leaders and plant management (if union).
  • Lead safety and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Work around ingredients or products containing food allergens.
