Job summary

Kroger Tolleson is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and equipment inspections in a fast-paced food production facility. You will set up machine tools, troubleshoot failures, and document work orders while upholding Kroger's Food Safety and Quality principles and the Customer 1st strategy.

The role requires strong detail orientation, basic PLC knowledge, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, structures, pipes, and electrical systems in the facility
• Set up and use machine tools to repair or fabricate parts
• Troubleshoot issues and repair failures to maximize efficiency
• Complete assigned work orders and unplanned tasks
• Maintain a clean maintenance area

• Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs

Job description

Perform tasks related to preventative maintenance, mechanical machine repairs, inspection and testing of equipment, building maintenance and specific projects. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership that embodies our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility
• Set up and use machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness
• Complete assigned work orders and unplanned/emergency tasks as required
• Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion
• Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties
• Operate material handling equipment safely
• Document work order information/completion
• Provide support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program
• Participate and actively support all plant initiatives such as minimizing or eliminating downtime and ensuring plant optimization
• Perform duties accurately and safety in a fast-paced environment
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements

Minimum

• Proficient mechanical knowledge and skills one or more of the following maintenance classification: electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, and basic PLCS
