Job Description

Perform tasks related to preventative maintenance, mechanical machine repairs, inspection and testing of equipment, building maintenance, and specific projects. Ensure all jobs are performed safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the plant's performance in Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR), and our Customer 1st strategy. Provide leadership embodying our 7 Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System principles. Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy and precision.
  • Proficient mechanical knowledge and skills in electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, or basic PLCs.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Sense of urgency during downtime.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Self-motivated and organized with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and knowledge of GMP.
  • 2+ years of maintenance mechanic experience or relevant technical training/certification.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Experience with machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press, and milling machine.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment.
  • Complete work orders and emergency tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area.
  • Use maintenance systems for daily duties.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Document work activities accurately.
  • Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Participate in plant initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize operations.
  • Perform duties safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow programs and policies to produce safe, quality foods meeting regulatory standards.
  • Accountable to Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work around food ingredients and allergens.
