Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca is seeking a Metrology Technician to perform qualification, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical and process instrumentation, with emphasis on HPLC and LC-MS components.

You will install and qualify new equipment, maintain calibration records, support quality investigations, and train staff and remote facilities while ensuring compliant operation of laboratory instruments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics or mechanical technology or closely related field required.
• 1 year experience in a laboratory environment.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting HPLC systems and LC-MS components.
• Hands-on experience calibrating, verifying, maintaining, and repairing laboratory equipment.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office; Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Install and qualify new laboratory equipment according to SOPs.
• Perform calibration, verification, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical instruments.
• Maintain equipment life cycle documentation and calibration records.
• Troubleshoot HPLC systems and LC-MS components to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate vendor installation, maintenance, repair, and software validation activities.
• Create and maintain SOPs, risk assessments, and gap analyses.
• Support quality investigations, corrective/preventive actions, audits, and metrics.
• Train employees and provide technical guidance to staff and remote facilities.
