Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Metrology Technician to join the on-site team in Fremont, CA. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Metrology and supports metrology engineering activities across fuel cell manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) with hands-on experience operating high-precision machinery and vision inspection systems, plus strong attention to safety and quality. This is a full-time, on-site position with weekend shift coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred.
• 4 years of experience in manufacturing or related environment.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting high-precision machinery and vision inspection systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift coverage (weekends) of all Metrology Engineering activities across multiple functional areas for fuel cell manufacturing.
• Respond to metrology and inspection equipment downtime; verify defect validity, optimize inspection software, troubleshoot optical/mechanical/electrical systems.
• Identify and respond to abnormal conditions; coordinate containment actions and implement corrective measures within cross-functional teams.
• Communicate effectively; deliver clear, timely daily reports to the team.
• Perform routine measurements, conduct equipment calibrations, and execute Gauge R&R studies to ensure accuracy and reliability.
