Job summary

Gotion Inc. in Manteno, IL, is seeking a Metrology Technician to perform and document gauge calibration recalls, in-process and final inspection gauging to ensure conformance to applicable requirements.

You will apply GD&T and metrology principles, conduct SPC/MSA analyses, train inspectors, support tooling and gage projects, and provide inspection help to multiple departments. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, data entry and Excel, GD&T knowledge, blueprint reading, and experience

Qualifications

Knowledge of metrology gauging and strong working knowledge of GD&T (read and interpret).
Knowledge of reading blueprints and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with inspection equipment and tools (such as portable CMM, micrometers, calipers).

Responsibilities

Applies knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles, MSA, GR&R, Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure product gauging meets requirements.
Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers.
Train other inspectors and technicians.
Participate in special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and gages.
Identifies cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle.
Assist with creation of instructions for using inspection tools and systems.
Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform part inspection, and help with FAIs.
