Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks a Metrology Ops and Customer Quality Engineer III to program and operate CMMs, validate supplier material against drawings, and drive metrology improvements.

You will develop inspection methods, document procedures, participate in internal and supplier audits, and collaborate across teams to reduce cycle time while ensuring high quality. Preferred candidates will have Zeiss Calypso programming expertise, GD&T knowledge, and experience with Mitutoyo

Qualifications

ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge used for dimensional metrology inspections.
Experience using hand tools for metrology (surface plates, pins, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators).
Advanced Zeiss Calypso programming experience.
Mitutoyo AOI experience is a plus
Knowledge of precision machining, coatings, plating is desirable.

Responsibilities

Program and operate CMMs to validate supplier material against part prints.
Develop methods and procedures for inspection and testing; document procedures.
Lead internal and supplier audits and review qualification packs.
Read drawings and interpret specifications; reduce qualification cycle time and cost.
Collaborate with metrology teams across sites and share best practices.
