Job summary

OASIS Alignment Services in the Western U.S. region is seeking a Metrology Engineer/Technician who thrives in the field, travels frequently, and works with cutting-edge 3D laser metrology to service large industrial equipment.

You'll collect precision data on site, create technical reports and 3D models, and support project planning while training customers and team members. This role offers hands-on problem solving and opportunities to advance into leadership.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong written communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
  • Ability and desire to travel extensively.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Travel approximately 80% of the time throughout North America, often on multi-day assignments.
  • Utilize advanced laser metrology and alignment equipment to collect precision measurement data.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, alignment, and geometric issues on large industrial machinery.
  • Perform and oversee corrective alignment and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze measurement data and provide practical solutions to improve equipment performance.
  • Create detailed technical service reports and 3D modeling documentation.
  • Support project planning, scoping, and quoting efforts.
  • Train customers and team members on metrology tools and alignment techniques.
  • Work directly with customers to solve critical operational challenges.

Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Travel approximately 80% of the time throughout North America, often on multi-day assignments
  • Utilize advanced laser metrology and alignment equipment to collect precision measurement data
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, alignment, and geometric issues on large industrial machinery

What We're Looking For

  • Naval, Marine, Manufacturing, Energy, Aerospace, or Heavy Industrial experience
  • Leadership potential and interest in advancing into a technical leadership role
