Job Mission

ASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. This position is for a First Line Support Production Engineer in the Production Engineering department at Wilton Factory, CT. The candidate will work with cross-sector teams to provide rapid responses to resolve engineering disturbance notices and perform engineering steps listed in the production operator dashboard (POD) to support output.

Work Schedule: Compressed Work Week Day 2 (CWW D2), working from 6am to 6pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and alternating Wednesdays.

Job Description

  • Spend approximately 75% of time in the Cleanroom supporting production processes and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot metrology issues efficiently and promptly
  • Address module test and final qualification issues swiftly
  • Resolve manufacturing tooling and optical metrology equipment problems
  • Run image processing algorithms to extract nm-scale flatness data from interferometric measurements
  • Analyze MATLAB scripts and visualize data from databases
  • Support image analysis and derive conclusions from data
  • Develop OCAPs, Fishbones, and troubleshooting guidelines
  • Assist in diagnostics qualification and implementation for production staff
  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions
  • Contribute to development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions
  • Participate in design and review of diagnostics
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) processes
  • Assist in implementing cycle time and labor hour roadmaps
  • Support PFMEA activities
  • Read optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python is advantageous
  • Work in a cleanroom environment requiring full gowning and safety protocols, including working around cranes, lasers, ladders, chemicals, and on platforms

Education & Work Experience

  • Master's degree in Optics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with co-op or internship experience in production
  • Bachelor's degree in the same fields with 2+ years of experience in a technical production environment

Additional Skills & Work Experience

  • Hands-on capability in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of image/signal/data processing algorithms, statistics, and software development
  • Understanding of optical and interferometric principles is a plus
  • Experience with optical assembly, alignment, and test equipment
  • Knowledge of lasers, detectors, electro-optical devices, and opto-mechanical constructions
  • Experience with high-tech production processes and quality methodologies such as SPC and FMEA
  • Familiarity with NX, Teamcenter, and SAP is advantageous

Position Context

Physical demands include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, manual tasks, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. May require travel. Specific vision abilities include close, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Ability to work under deadlines in a moderate environment. Must interpret data and interact effectively with others.
