Job summary

GIA in Carlsbad, California, seeks a Metrologist to lead calibration, validation, and performance evaluation of laboratory instrumentation such as microbalances and spectral analyzers. You will develop procedures, analyze data, and ensure measurement quality across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Metrology, or a related technical discipline is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced knowledge of measurement science to calibrate, validate and evaluate laboratory instrumentation.
• Identifies test procedures, calibrates standards, and maintains calibration protocols.
• Develops test plans, calibration procedures, and validation protocols.
• Applies statistical methods to analyze measurement data and uncertainty.
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and coordinates support.
