Job summary

BMW Manufacturing is seeking a metrology professional in Upstate South Carolina to deliver precise measurement data and support root-cause investigations. You will set up investigations, analyze data, and collaborate on complex metrology solutions for parts, assemblies, and process evaluations.

The role requires CAD and metrology software experience, knowledge of 3D alignment, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or AA/AS with 2 years manufacturing experience or equivalent of 4 years manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of tactile/optical metrology equipment experience in manufacturing.
• 1+ years reading blueprints/drawings/measurement plans.
• 1+ years CAD experience (CATIA preferred).
• 1+ years metrology software experience (Polyworks, Calypso, Zeiss Inspect).
• 1+ years automated measurement programming experience.
• 2+ years knowledge of Body, Assembly, Quality, or Battery processes (preferred).
• 2+ years knowledge of 3D alignment (preferred).
• 2+ years of leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers accurate measurement data to the customer within established time requirements.
• Determines setup and measurement method for investigations.
• Analyzes data to support root cause analysis for issues.
• Collaborates on metrology solutions for part measurements and process investigations.
• Adheres to testing equipment standards and methods.
• Executes measurement plans using relevant software and equipment.
• Represents metrology results for Plant Spartanburg in launch teams.
• Collaborates on PMP/8D with cross-functional teams and best practices.
