Description

Metropolitan Police Department Officers (MPD) will provide protective services for the patients, families, staff, and property of Children's National Health System (CNHS). As directed, CNHS MPD Officers respond to emergency situations while enforcing the established hospital policies and in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. Department personnel must maintain a tactful and courteous demeanor in the exercise of duties. They will perform access control using state-of-the-art technology to ensure the safety of patients and conduct security patrols of the entire location to proactively identify risks. The primary responsibilities include the Emergency Departments, often working with medical professionals to enhance patient safety. They will support CNHS Special Police Officers with detention and/or arrest of individuals violating laws of the District of Columbia.
