Job summary

Caniff Electric Supply is seeking a Route Delivery Truck Driver to operate 16ft to 26ft vehicles, load and deliver materials, and maintain safety and accuracy on routes around Detroit. The role requires a clean driving record, a valid chauffeur license, and ability to pass a DOT physical.

The position offers full-time hours, with 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM schedule and occasional overtime. Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Chauffeur's license required; CDL preferred.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical.
• Good, verifiable driving record (MVR review).
• Internal driving skills assessment required.
• Familiarity with Detroit metro area and delivery driving experience preferred.
• Professional conduct with customers and staff.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office; operate computer terminals.

Responsibilities

• Check, load/unload and secure product for delivery.
• Comply with vehicle regulations and traffic laws.
• Maintain safety procedures for loading, unloading and transport.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and fueling steps.
• Follow delivery instructions and respect customer site rules.
• Provide customer service and build relationships with customers.
• Record receipts; verify signatures per policy.
