Job summary

Priority Waste Resources in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Container Delivery Driver to pick up and deliver containers for various customer accounts. You will operate a heavy-duty truck and a Moffett forklift, following safety rules and DOT requirements.

Required: valid Chauffeur's License, high school diploma or GED, ability to work 10–12 hour shifts including some Saturdays, and capacity to pass background checks, a DOT drug screen, and a physical.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Chauffeur's License.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, including some Saturdays.
• Must pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Must have a safe driving record with no major accidents in the past five years.
• Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smell.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck.
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day.
• Operates a Moffett forklift to load and unload containers.
• Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customer’s location free of debris.
• Communicates with customers as needed and notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of issues.
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents.
• Maintains cleanliness and professional appearance of vehicle.
