Job summary

Unitil, a utility company serving Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is seeking an instrumentation technician with metering and device programming expertise. You will install and calibrate meters, troubleshoot instrument equipment, and support billing accuracy while complying with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with electronic metering endpoint technology.
• 5+ years experience with gas metering equipment.
• 2+ years experience with electrical wiring and diagrams.
• 1–2 years experience with telephone-based metering equipment installation and maintenance.
• Proficient with PC applications including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program new electronic metering instruments for installation.
• Install and remove meters and associated instruments.
• Complete post-installation audits and ensure accurate meter reads for billing.
• Install automated meter reading devices on instrumented meters.
• Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical meter instrument equipment and repairs.
• Maintain records and calibrate instruments using vendor software.
