Job summary

Carroll Motor Fuels is seeking CDL drivers to deliver petroleum products to residential and commercial customers in Virginia. Drivers will operate straight trucks, complete daily paperwork, and maintain safety and logs while complying with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Maryland or Virginia Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements and TWIC.
• DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate required.
• 3+ years’ tanker driving experience preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stabilize 100 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Drive a straight truck to delivery locations following local traffic laws.
• Deliver product and monitor transfer to customer vessels.
• Operate onboard delivery computer and meter systems.
• Maintain manifests and DVIRs.
• Complete required daily paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Drive a straight truck to delivery locations while obeying all local traffic laws.
• Deliver product, monitor the transfer of product from the delivery truck to the customer's vessel.
• Operate the truck's onboard delivery computer and meter systems.
• Maintain required paperwork including manifests, emergency response guides and Driver Vehicle Inspections Reports (DVI R' s).
• Perform other tasks & duties as assigned or required.

QualificationsEducation, Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED recommended, but not required.
• Must be 21 years of age (DOT required).
• Current/valid Maryland or Virginia State Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements and TWIC Card.
• Current/valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
• 3+ Years’ experience driving tanker vehicles preferred.
• Ability to train and learn the petroleum industry.
• Ability to lift and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. and the ability to stabilize a minimum of 100 lbs.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with others, including employees and customers.
• Must meet company insurability requirements.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to weather %+ of shift; Works outside % of shift.
• Extended exposure to petroleum products.
• Spends % of day driving, subject to DOT rules and regulations.
• Spends % of day standing and monitoring fill location.
• Spends % of day lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 lbs or more.
