Allegiant Utility Services is a world-class utility service organization that has been providing meter installation, meter testing, and meter sales to Rural Electric Cooperatives and Municipalities for over 25 years. We also cater to electric cooperatives, city municipalities, and a variety of other businesses such as recreational vehicle parks and retirement communities. Allegiant installs primarily electric and water meters and also inspects and tests commercial electric meters through its field service divisions.

The Meter Audit Technician objective is to provide service for the audit of meters at utility locations. Primary responsibilities will include the following: Managing a daily schedule for work accomplishment, accountability of assigned audits, conducting work within a Work Order Management system. High level of public interaction may be required working in an outdoor environment.

Duties and core responsibilities include the following:

• Audit electrical meters within service territory
• Conduct work through a Work Order Management system
• Work with utility personnel and utility consumers
• Responsible use of a company truck and other equipment

Perform other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must complete a background check & drug screening
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have firm understanding of basic electrical meters
• Must have computer skills including the ability to operate a PC, mobile handheld applications, email, and navigation systems
• Must maintain a professional manner and have strong communication skills to communicate effectively with the public, utility and internal teams
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout service territory
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Compensation (Paid Weekly):

• Rate of pay: $9.27 per hour plus $2.00 piece pay. Top performers audit 10 meters per hour and are well compensated depending on productivity.
  • Average earnings: $24-26/hr

Work Requirements:

• On the job training and supervision will be provided prior to working independently
• Company truck provided and workday consists of regional travel to city of Georgetown area.

Work Status and Shift:

• Full Time - Temporary
• Mon-Fri 1st shift hours
