Eversource Energy in Connecticut seeks a Gas Meter Service Mechanic to install, inspect, and repair residential and commercial gas metering equipment. You will reconnect services, service gas appliances, and respond to gas odor and high-bill concerns.
This shift position requires appropriate gas-meter licenses, CAST testing for external candidates, and the ability to perform overtime, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects while ensuring safety and exceptional customer service.

Individuals will, under general supervision, install, remove, adjust, and repair all types of residential and commercial gas metering equipment including repair of residential heating and water heating equipment. In addition, the selected candidate will:
Starting Rate of Pay: $46.04 per hour ***This is a Shift position***
The selected candidate MUST hold one of the following licenses in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job: Preferred: S1, S2, S3, S4, Second Preference: S5, S6, S7, S8, P1, P2 Acceptable: D1, D2, Minimally Acceptable: G1, G2.
In lieu of a license, internal Eversource employees with at least 10 years of experience as a fully qualified Gas Meter Service Mechanic will also be considered for this position.
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing.
