Responsibilities include identifying mail types, applying postage, maintaining equipment, and supporting daily USPS pickups. Candidates need a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience.

Summary

Responsible for processing first class mail and transferring it to the United States Postal Service (USPS) for timely delivery. Ensures cost is assigned to correct cost codes, proper postage for the class of mail is selected, and the mail piece meets USPS requirements for mail-ability. Mail procedures require the adherence to the USPS regulations governing mail and adherence to federal privacy regulations.

Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift, 8:00AM - 4:30PM. This role is located onsite at 3060 Alpine Road, Columbia, SC 29223.

• Separates mail types received by recognizing quality mail, checks, and bills in accordance with the USPS work share discount programs.
• Applies correct postage via meter machines.
• Ensures mail presentation quality.
• Selects mail type for reduced postage.
• Sorts and routes discount and full-rate mail.
• Assists in daily USPS pickup and delivery.
• Use knowledge of detailed postal regulations and shape-based pricing to ensure proper postage for the class of mail is selected.
• Monitors and maintains meter equipment and work area.
• Withdraws and tracks appropriate meter funds transactions via postage by phone. Documents certified mail.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

• Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Required Work Experience : 1 year work experience
• Skills and Abilities : Coordinates delivery and receiving, coordinates production schedules, maintains mail equipment, manage inventories, and operates mail equipment.
