Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics in Brea, CA seeks a Meter Billing Specialist to ensure accurate on-time invoicing and strong customer relationships. You will review meter usage data, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with IT and field teams to maintain clean billing records.

This on-site role reports to the Meter Billing Supervisor and requires a high school diploma with experience in customer service or billing; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in customer service, billing, operations or a related business environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – particularly in Excel (pivot tables, filters, formats, etc.) and demonstrated abilities in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Data Management & Discrepancy Resolution: Collect, review, and input meter reading data from various sources. Identify and investigate discrepancies, anomalies, or errors in meter readings and billing data. Resolve issues by working with field service, cross-functional customer service teams, and IT partners
• Billing Processing & Compliance: Generate and process on time customer invoices based on validated meter data. Process billing adjustments and credits as needed, ensuring proper documentation. Ensure all billing practices comply with company policies and contract terms
• Customer Support & Process Improvement: Respond to and resolve customer inquiries related to meter readings, billing statements, and usage discrepancies in a professional and timely manner. Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency

Meter Billing Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our meter billing operations. You will proactively drive on-time billing rates by cultivating strong relationships with customers, contract administration and internal IT partners. Your responsibilities will include meticulously reviewing customer usage data from diagnostic laboratories to verify completeness, expertly addressing customer billing inquiries (and escalating complex issues for swift resolution), and performing comprehensive billing reconciliation to guarantee precise invoices across all supported systems. This position reports to the Supervisor of Meter Billing and is part of the Meter Billing Team located in Brea, CA and will be an onsite role.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• High school Diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in customer service, billing, operations or a related business environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – particularly in Excel (pivot tables, filters, formats, etc.) and demonstrated abilities in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
• ERP experience (ORACLE or a similar size ERP system, i.e., SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
• Experience with contracts, revenue operations, billing, order management, customer support or data analysis

The hourly range for this role is $24.00 - 26.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
