Job Summary / Description:

WLBT is looking for a passionate Meteorologist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong forecaster who can deliver accurate, engaging, and impactful weather coverage across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. The ideal candidate is committed to serving viewers with trustworthy information, especially during severe weather, and understands how to connect with audiences across multiple platforms.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver accurate daily weather forecasts for television, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Provide clear, urgent, and reliable coverage during severe weather and other impactful weather events.
  • Monitor weather models, radar, and data sources to track changing conditions and communicate updates quickly.
  • Use graphics, storytelling, and live reporting to make weather information easy for audiences to understand.
  • Create weather‑related content for the station website, app, CTV platforms, and social media channels.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field required.
  • On‑air weather presentation experience preferred.
  • Strong forecasting skills and the ability to explain complex weather information in a clear and engaging way.
  • Experience with weather systems, radar technology, graphics platforms, and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended coverage during severe weather.
