TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Meteorologist/Multiskilled Journalist for NewsWest 9 in Midland, TX. You will anchor weekend weather, deliver accurate forecasts on-air and online, and contribute to severe weather coverage.
You will also create content for NewsWest 9+ streaming and manage daily social media engagement. The role requires a degree in meteorology and/or broadcast journalism, strong newsroom skills, and the ability to shoot, write, and edit under deadline pressure.

NewsWest 9 has a full-time opening for a Meteorologist/Multiskilled Journalist to join our team.
As a meteorologist, you will anchor the weather for weekend shows and other newscasts. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate weather reports on-air and online in a conversational manner. You will also be an integral part of the weather team in severe weather coverage. This includes tracking storms using the latest technology and/or reporting live from the field. You will also create original content for our NewsWest 9+ streaming platform.
As an MSJ, you will create compelling content for all NewsWest 9 platforms, from TV to digital platforms to social media. The successful candidate will have experience finding, developing and pitching quality news stories every day; shooting, writing, and editing assigned stories under deadline pressure; and presenting stories in a captivating and authentic manner.
