The Savannah market experiences all types of weather, from snow to hurricanes. This is a role where you can dig in and make an impact in our community through educating and informing our audience.

Responsibilities

• Forecast and deliver engaging weather segments for our scheduled weekend newscasts
• Produce and anchor weather segments for WTOC+, our streaming and digital platform
• Create dynamic and watchable social media content for WTOC social platforms
• Update WTOC core platforms (website, mobile apps) often with accurate and relevant forecast information
• Research and pitch live weather segments for weekday shifts
• Work with the rest of the First Alert Weather team during severe weather and hurricane coverage
• Fill in for other meteorologists during the week as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in meteorology, broadcast meteorology, or atmospheric sciences
• At least two years of experience in an on‑air meteorologist role
• Familiarity with The Weather Company (WSI) Max computer system
• Ability to work as part of an on‑air team and as part of a weather team
