Job summary

WPEC is seeking a Meteorologist to join our morning news team. The Meteorologist will present weather forecasts during the weekend morning newscasts and work three days a week on the morning show, providing accurate and engaging weather coverage on air and across our digital platforms.

You will forecast, produce and present clear weather casts, issue warnings, create graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in weather presentation preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots.
• In-depth knowledge of forecasting.

• Make public appearances on behalf of the station
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?

• Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots
• In Depth Knowledge of forecasting
• Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in weather presentation preferred
