Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a Meteorologist to join our morning news team in West Palm Beach. The Meteorologist will present weather forecasts during weekend morning newscasts and work three days a week on the morning show, delivering accurate and engaging weather coverage on air and across our digital platforms.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field, with 3+ years of weather presentation experience preferred and strong on-air storytelling abilities.

• Minimum 3 years of weather presentation experience.
• Strong on-air presenting and storytelling with visuals.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, produce and present clear, concise weather casts.
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, report live during weather events.
• Utilize social media during severe weather and write weather stories.
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station.
• Collaborate with producers to tailor weather content for breaking and everyday situations.

WPEC is seeking a Meteorologist to join our morning news team. The Meteorologist will present weather forecasts during the weekend morning newscasts and work three days a week on the morning show, providing accurate and engaging weather coverage on air and across our digital platforms.

The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include…

• Forecasting, Producing and Presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers
• Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events
• Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories
• Make public appearances on behalf of the station
• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?

• Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots
• In Depth Knowledge of forecasting
• Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in weather presentation preferred
