Job summary

Lincoln Public Schools (MA) is hiring a METCO Bus Monitor to support safe student transport between Lincoln and Boston. Immediate start; Monday schedule with per-day pay. Role may combine with other Lincoln School positions.

Responsibilities include supervising students on the bus, taking attendance, reporting delays, and communicating professionally with families and staff. Training is paid and position supports district goals for safe, respectful student travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work with drivers and METCO staff to keep students safe.
• Familiarity with Gmail and Chrome for communication and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Take attendance and ensure safe entry/exit on the bus.
• Remind students to stay seated and use appropriate language.
• Communicate delays to METCO Director and AIDE Coordinator promptly.
• Maintain professional communication with students, caregivers and staff.
• Complete bus conduct reports timely and submit to METCO leadership.
• Follow seating plans and re-assign seats as needed.
• Answer calls from parents/district staff about delays using school phone.
• Distribute flyers/announcements as directed.
• Report concerns to METCO Director and Principals via established protocol.
• Remain on bus until all students are off; participate in trainings.
