Job summary

Lehigh University’s Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Metaphysics, in the analytic tradition, with possible competence in Philosophy of Mind or core areas. Start date July 1, 2027.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate metaphysics and Introduction to Philosophy, engage in scholarship, and participate in departmental, college, and university service. 2/2 teaching load and active contribution to departmental life are expected.

Qualifications

• PhD in Philosophy by date of employment.
• Record of publication in top journals.
• University-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in metaphysics and core areas (e.g., Introduction to Philosophy).
• Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to department, college and university service.
• Support department goals and contribute to research and curriculum development.
