Job summary

University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee is seeking a part-time on-campus Studio Assistant for the SACC, supporting five studio areas: photography, jewelry and metals, printmaking, ceramics, and fibers. The role involves front-desk duties and assisting studio members across all studios.

Shifts work with Studio Leads; must be willing to support Special Events and workshops, and maintain safety and cleanliness of the space.

Qualifications

  • Must enjoy working with people.
  • Must be willing to learn and assist across all studio areas.
  • Must work SACC Special Events.
  • Must be dedicated to the SACC mission.
  • Must be able to lift 25–30 pounds.
  • In-depth knowledge of tools and techniques for the metals area.
  • Assist studio members with space and equipment as they use the studio.
  • Keep the studio space and equipment clean.
  • Awareness of SACC programs and events.
  • Follow University of Wisconsin System employment policies.
  • Maintain the Metals area and equipment.
  • Maintain open communication with Managers.
  • Provide instruction and demonstrations for Metals Area events.
  • Research and recommend purchases for the Metals Area.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the front desk and assist studio members.
  • Support studio leads during shifts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio and equipment.
  • Assist with SACC events and workshops.
  • Provide general instruction and demonstrations for Metals Area.
