• Knowledge of materials, production processes and machine capability

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily operations for a functional area
• Plan and establish work schedules and process sequences to meet goals
• Routinely inspect production areas and monitor staff for safety and standards
• Analyze specifications and reports to determine production requirements
• Make decisions or recommendations regarding labor needs
• Troubleshoot production issues and assist staff as a technical resource
• Review performance data to measure productivity and identify improvements
• Use inventory models and reports to analyze performance and forecast
• Recommend methods to improve production, equipment and quality
• Coordinate operations within/between departments
• Explain and enforce policies and procedures
• Ensure staff have information needed to do their job and follow up
• Lead group meetings with staff
• Assist in hiring and training
• Provide constructive performance feedback for staff development
• Address staff situations appropriately
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
