Job description

As a company with SAFETY as their #1 priority, the AMETEK Hamilton Precision Metals plant custom re-roll precision metal strip and foil in their climate controlled, clean work environment. Employees use their mechanical knowledge to rework the metal strip and foil for critical applications in the medical, aerospace, and electronic industries. AMETEK, Inc. has an opening for a Skilled Machine Operator in our Metals Cleaning department at their Lancaster, PA plant for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). With an exceptional benefit package including tuition reimbursement, our positions start at competitive wages, plus a $1/hour shift differential.

1. Operate strip-cleaning machine

2. Respooling of metals, especially for visual inspection of entire lengths of coils.

3. Respooling for stock such as overruns from mills, small coils due to breakage at mills, etc.

4. Respooling and/or interleaving of telescoped coils from mills, furnaces, slitters, or any other operation.

5. Blocking of metals, which is tight and uniform spooling of various metals onto mill blocks for rolling operations.

Position Requirements:

• Safety conscious and able to assess risks
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Solid mathematical skills
• Desire to use hands and learn new machinery and tooling
• Comfortable working in a unionized, multi-machine job shop environment
• Willingness to work on weekends if needed
• A high school diploma or GED certification
• Able to pass a hair drug test
