Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a materials analyst to investigate complex chemical and metallurgical problems in aerospace materials at East Hartford. You will perform microstructural analyses, evaluate material standards, and report findings onsite, collaborating with customers and manufacturing teams.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant experience; familiarity with SEM/EDS and analytical instruments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 2 years relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex chemical and metallurgical problems using established and innovative methods.
• Perform microstructural analyses to evaluate aerospace materials for standards compliance.
• Familiar with SEM/EDS techniques including sample prep, microscope operation, and data collection and analysis.
• Conduct SEM/EDS investigations on non-metallic and metallic samples for failure analysis and material identification.
• Maintain a strong work ethic and ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks.
• Provide clear, concise lab reports.
• Interact effectively with customers at all levels.
