Job summary

Multimatic in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a QA Technician for the third shift to prepare samples for cut and etch, capture weld images, and perform hardness testing. The role involves destructive and non-destructive testing of welds and components, with emphasis on accurate reporting and data entry in Excel.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and about two years of related experience, plus basic computer skills (Excel/Word/Outlook). Travel occasionally may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 years general or specific experience in this field desired.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Excel, Word and Outlook required.
  • Welding and plasma cutting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for Cut & Etch: Plasma Cutting, Wet Saw, Polishing & Etching (Acid).
  • Capture images and measure weld features using computerized software.
  • Perform Rockwell hardness testing as required (infrequent).
  • Perform destructive & non-destructive testing on welds and nuts/studs.
  • Manage Discrepant Weld Reports including emailing and data entry into Excel.
  • Document, file and maintain in-process inspection reports.
  • Assist others as assigned.
  • Conduct yourself professionally to support the Quality Department and MNH.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare samples for Cut & Etch: Plasma Cutting, Wet Saw, Polishing & Etching (Acid) Perform Destructive Cut & Etch testing on production MIG welds.
  • Capture images and measure weld features using computerized software.
  • Perform Rockwell hardness testing as required. (infrequent)
  • Perform destructive & non-destructive testing on Resistance Spot welds and Resistance Projection nuts/studs.
  • Manage Discrepant Weld Reports including emailing and the generation/data entry/ and saving of reports in Excel.
  • Document, File and Maintain in-process inspection reports.
  • Assist others as assigned.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional and technical manner that positively impacts the Quality Department and MNH as a whole
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The employee may be required to travel and stay overnight on occasion.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
