Job summary

Aalberts Ht is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality department at facilities in Defiance, OH and Saginaw, MI. You will implement and control quality systems, train personnel in SPC and inspection, and minimize rejections while addressing customer complaints.

The role requires a Metallurgy-related degree, at least five years in manufacturing, and extensive heat treating knowledge. Travel up to 25% is possible; you will write procedures, maintain records, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Metallurgy or related field.
• Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of heat treating principles including time, temperature, transformation relations, SAE steels, hardness and microstructural analysis.
• Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze rejected work and disposition using chemical, microstructural analysis, heat treating cycles, and paperwork reviews.
• Specify processing parameters for new jobs based on PO, specs, and drawings.
• Ensure employees are trained in SPC, inspection techniques, record keeping, and heat treating principles.
• Maintain quality records per QA Manual, including calibration, non-conforming material, and advanced quality planning.
• Communicate process changes to employees and management; ensure proper equipment and procedures are available.
• Write standard procedures, control plans, and metallurgical reports.
• Detect and analyze trends via X-bar & R charts and quality reports.
• Assist customers with quality problems and corrective actions; respond to complaints and evaluate effectiveness.
