Job summary

Ellwood National Forge Company in Corry, PA seeks a Metallurgist to join the technical services team. You will review customer material specifications, develop material specifications for forgings, and provide technical support for Sales and Operations.

This exempt position reports to the Director of Technical Services and may be assigned to the Irvine or Warren Plants. You will conduct product and process development, investigate claims, and oversee testing activities to ensure quality and

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, or Material Science & Engineering.
• Strong MS Office skills and good communication.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel periodically.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer material specifications.
• Serve on inquiry and order review teams.
• Develop material specifications for forgings that will be part of ENF purchase orders.
• Develop internal and supplier work instructions and procedures to fulfill customer requirements.
• Provide technical support for Sales and Operations.
• Conduct product and process development in support of production.
• Investigate customer claims and provide oral/written summation of findings.
• Analyze and determine causality of internal non-conformances and mechanical test failures.
• Execute, analyze, and oversee mechanical and metallurgical testing activities.
• Conduct failure analysis on mill components and production parts.
