Job summary

Origin Mining Company in Arizona seeks a Metallurgist to oversee safe, efficient processing operations for heap leach, SX-EW, and milling/flotation, ensuring production targets are met. You will optimize processes, manage costs, and coordinate with mining teams to maintain environmental and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering, 3+ years of heap leach experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of practical operating experience, with copper heap leaching experience and supervision.
• Knowledge of copper extraction unit operations including heap leach, SX-EW, and milling/flotation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, environmental, and community requirements are met; coordinate with EMG safety department.
• Provide direction to meet production targets; interface with mining and geology for ore characteristics; forecast and reconcile production.
• Optimize processing operations to meet metal recoveries and efficiency targets; liaise with external labs and consultants.
• Manage process costs, reagent usage, and inventory; communicate with accounting for orders.
• Provide weekly, monthly, and annual production updates and reports.
