Job summary

Precision Metal Products (PMP) seeks a Metallurgical Quality Supervisor to lead metallurgy, materials science, and laboratory operations, steering quality engineering activities and improvements across forging and heat treatment processes. This role provides technical leadership to quality and lab personnel and aligns with the company’s quality management system and aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in metallurgical/Materials/Quality Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in metallurgy, heat treat, forging, aerospace manufacturing, or quality engineering.
• Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience with AS9100 or aerospace quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily MetLab and Quality operations.
• Primary metallurgical resource for forging, heat treat, machining, and quality ops.
• Lead material evaluations, microstructure analysis, mechanical property review, and failures investigations.
• Support customer, NADCAP, AS9100, and internal audits.
• Lead root cause investigations involving material, process, and quality issues.
• Review and interpret customer specifications, material requirements, and industry standards.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Quality teams to improve process capability and product quality.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives using statistical and engineering methodologies.
• Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, First Article Inspections, and validation activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Quality Engineers, MetLab Technicians, and Inspectors.
• Support development of laboratory capabilities, equipment, and testing methods.
• Evaluate material nonconformances and determine disposition recommendations.
• Assist with supplier quality and material-related corrective actions.
• Generate technical reports and present findings to leadership and customers.
