Exponent Inc. is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer in Chicago, IL to join the Metallurgical & Corrosion Engineering Practice.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to conduct metallurgical, materials, and mechanical failure analyses, and contribute to challenging, technology-driven projects. You will plan and execute laboratory tests, perform field inspections, review technical documentation, and communicate findings to clients and colleagues while supporting multiple engagements and travel

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team.
• The ability to travel as-needed.
• Legally authorized to work in the US, no visa sponsorship required.

Responsabilidades

• Conducting hands-on and desktop-based failure analyses.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory tests.
• Conducting field inspections.
• Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation.
• Communicating effectively with engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and staff.
• Generating written work products (PowerPoint presentations, technical reports).
• Presenting results to clients and staff, both technical and non-technical.
• Managing day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements.
