You will perform metallographic prep, microscopy analyses, and various inspections while documenting results for QA and traceability. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement and compliance with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate a plus.
• Experience in welding, weld inspection, metallurgy, and quality control.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Safety-conscious in lab/metallographic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weld samples by cutting, mounting, polishing, and etching for metallographic examination.
• Analyze weld cross-sections using microscopes and precision measurement tools to evaluate penetration, fusion, porosity, defects, and weld integrity.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and applicable NDT inspections (e.g., PT/MT/UT if qualified) and compare results to specs.
• Document findings accurately, maintain testing records, and produce reports for audits and traceability.
• Interpret welding symbols and drawings to verify compliance and ensure welders follow standards.
