Job summary

Higgins Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Metal Stud Framer for full-time, commercial construction projects in Manhattan, KS. You will independently install metal stud framing, drywall, and acoustical ceiling systems on commercial job sites, read blueprints, and work safely and efficiently.

You will lead crews, plan daily work, coordinate with foremen and project managers, maintain tools, and ensure quality to meet schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in interior/exterior metal stud framing; leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret layouts, and manage layout independently.
• Proven track record leading crews and meeting production schedules.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; reliable transportation; travel as needed.
• Subject to drug test, physical, and E-Verify.

Metal Stud Framer

Full-Time | Commercial Construction

Compensation: Hourly, with final compensation based on skills, experience, and qualifications. (Paid weekly)

Position Summary

The Metal Stud Framer is responsible for independently performing skilled installation of metal stud framing, drywall systems, and acoustical ceiling (ACT) systems on commercial job sites. This role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, the ability to read plans, and consistent delivery of high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Install metal stud framing, drywall, and acoustical ceiling systems per plans and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and project documents
• Perform layout, measure, cut, and install materials with precision
• Maintain production pace while ensuring quality workmanship
• Follow all jobsite safety standards and company policies
• Work collaboratively with foremen, project managers, and other trades
• Identify and communicate potential issues before they impact production
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
• Lead, manage, and develop field crews on commercial job sites
• Plan daily and weekly work to meet project schedules and production goals
• Read and interpret blueprints to direct layout and installation
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and specifications
• Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe jobsite environment

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead crews and manage production schedules
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel as required
