Job summary

Higgins Group, Inc. is seeking a Drywall and Metal Framing Carpenter for our Wichita, KS commercial construction projects. The role requires installation of metal stud framing, drywall systems, and acoustical ceiling systems with a focus on safety and quality on busy job sites.

You will read blueprints, measure and lay out work, and lead field crews to maintain production pace while ensuring workmanship. Travel to project sites may be required, and adherence to E-Verify is expected.

Position Summary

The Drywall and Metal Framing Carpenter is responsible for independently performing skilled installation of metal stud framing, drywall systems, and acoustical ceiling (ACT) systems on commercial job sites. This role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, the ability to read plans, and consistent delivery of high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Install metal stud framing, drywall, and acoustical ceiling systems per plans and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and project documents
• Perform layout, measure, cut, and install materials with precision
• Maintain production pace while ensuring quality workmanship
• Follow all jobsite safety standards and company policies
• Work collaboratively with foremen, project managers, and other trades
• Identify and communicate potential issues before they impact production
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
• Lead, manage, and develop field crews on commercial job sites
• Plan daily and weekly work to meet project schedules and production goals
• Read and interpret blueprints to direct layout and installation
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and specifications
