Overview
- Assist customers with unloading materials.
- Sort and process materials according to their metal components.
- Purchase, grade, and box materials.
- Track inventory and shipments.
- Lead efforts to provide a best-in-class customer experience.
- Use a variety of hand tools and machines such as forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, and pressure washers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Work safely and maintain work area/equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Safety/OSHA guidelines and adherence for your safety and others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Must have the willingness to go the extra mile learning the scrap metal recycling industry.
- Metals knowledge preferred, but not required.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Flexible to work off hours, overtime, and weekends, in an industrial environment which may include being outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
- Must be willing to cross-train in various positions, be self-motivated, possess good work ethics and have the ability to work with a team.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test, background check and fit-for-duty test if needed.
