Job Description

KO Business Solutions is a family-owned staffing agency proud to work with a manufacturing company in Elk Grove Village, IL, who is seeking a Metal Finishing Line Operator to join their team. The Metal Finishing Line Operator Lead will focus on increased efficiency of the line while overseeing and providing guidance to other line operators.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (Some overtime may be required)

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL

Job Type: Direct Hire, Full-time

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Develop workload schedules with consideration to production demands and on-time delivery requirements.
• Delegate various duties among team members with clearly defined instructions.
• Follow all safety and housekeeping rules to create a safe working environment.
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions for process improvement and increased efficiency.
• Assist in training and provide guidance to other operators as needed.
• Adhere to all applicable safety practices while working with and around hazardous chemicals.
• Use basic geometry to calculate surface areas of various parts.
• Cross functionally support other lines or work areas as needed and complete other tasks as assigned.
• Support company objectives related to effective communication and accurate turnaround.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, periodic testing, and performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Adapt to frequent changes in a highly variable and challenging work environment.
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibit effective prioritization skills while upholding accuracy and consistency under pressure and/or short deadlines.
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time, handling parts ranging in size and weight up to 50 pounds, and bending, lifting, and maneuvering.
• Ability to learn and effectively use custom production software.
• Build interdepartmental relationships to foster a culture of teamwork.
• Operate standard equipment such as pumps and cranes.
• Learn to use equipment to measure dimensional changes.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous leadership experience in a production environment, racking, or chemical processing experience is preferred.
• PC literate with at least a basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced arithmetic skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
• Individual must be authorized to work in the U.S. under one of the following criteria: 1. A citizen of the United States, 2. A lawful permanent resident, 3. A non-citizen National of the United States.
